i went to europe about 7 weeks ago&there’s a crazy thing held in looking back on those pictures. it’s a surprising, surreal sort of experience. obviously i do remember heaven holes&all the beautiful shadows on the stone walls (i screamed&jumped when i saw this things..quite hard to forget) i do remember the laughing all night squished into our little hotel rooms, entertained by youtube videos&french game shows. i do remember the glooooorious food&all the hours that went into sitting at the dinner table. even though these pictures capture concrete things, the shadows&crazy wind&brisk air, they bring back emotions. the emotions of being perfectly content walking down the street after eating nutella crepes for lunch (how cliche paris tourist am i?)&the extreme exhaustion&the beautiful delirious daze that summed up most of the trip. so these pictures of walls&landscapes bring me back to concrete memories of standing on cobblestone holding up the group, insisting that i get one more picture. what a nice way to remember my spring break.

all in all, i adore europe, traveling, these people, picture-taking, blogging (debatable, look how long its taken me from my last post…)&&& AM SO THANKFUL YOU’RE READING THIS!!!!

these girls, ooooh i love them!!!! their hearts are full of grace & innocence & they hold so much beauty inside & out. i’ve been able to spendtime & invest in them, & they have continually blessed me. sweet hales (she’s the first beaut you’ll see) turned 13 this weekend & i was honored to take pictures of her & her closest friends. plus we got to skip rocks, affirm eachother, and dance in pretty fields, and thats always fun.

i’ve written about these people, these people who’ve transformed and mended my life before, but each time we spend time together, the intimacy and depth grows. last night we spent “the end of the word” (oh wait…) jacuzzi-ing in the lowlowlowdegrees of californian winter, cooking meals, speaking words of affirmation, praying, singing, and growing together. i treasure these people so dearly. the camera was passed around manyatimes, so here are some memories.

i don’t usually write too much, but there needs to be something said about this family. i love watching people love, whether its them loving Jesus, their families, high school students, homeless people, or in this case, the people who direly need love. this beautiful family has blessed me in ways i couldn’t even express over computer or letters or journal entries. ben & nicole served at my church as my youth pastor since i can remember, and they have really built the foundation in my life, and hundreds of others, through their openness, craaaazy brilliant wisdom, humor, and pure and deep love for Jesus. now they are moving their family to india to serve as He has called. when you read this post, i ask that you just pray for them and their ministry, they are bringing such beauty and depth to india, and it doesn’t even know it yet!
